As I sit and think about how I will celebrate my New Year’s Eve with my husband and 20-month-old daughter (is that even a thing?), I also begin to start thinking about 2022. It’s that time of year that most people reflect back on the moments of the previous year and start looking forward to what the future may bring. Hello, can it mean better naps for my lil’ one and more uninterrupted work time? Puhleez. For some, it’s that time to start looking at new goals for the future and to start envisioning areas they want to grow in. In 2022, I want to really focus on growing Southbay Parent Coaching as a business and also show more gratitude and appreciation with my husband.
With goal setting, you can start with more general goals then focus on narrowing down how you will reach them. For example, “I want to work out more this year,” can later become “I will do one hour of yoga once a week.” It’s important to just start somewhere and later you can specify the action plan of what that will look like by utilizing SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time-bound). These variables will help shape the “who, what, where’s” of your personal goals.
Today, I want to help get you started on your goal setting journey by giving you a FREE Goal Setting printout. It’s a great tool to use to start visualizing your goals and setting your intentions for the new year. It’s important to make sure to fill it out and put in area that you will see it often, like in front of your home workspace, or on the fridge. It will serve as a visual cue for your priorities for 2022.
